Hi we are Laura and Matt, AKA The Dopeness!
Inspired by bass music and our epic rave fam here in Halifax, we started out creating accessories like earplug earrings to uplevel our own lives.
We said never again will we lose one earplug at festivals.
Never again will we have to choose between picking up our earplug and wiping it off, or leaving it on the sticky bar floor where it had dropped.
Like if we are going to wear earrings or chains anyway, might as well tether some high fidelity earplugs on there and make them look nice.
As more and more homies asked us about what were doing, we thought maybe we should start making things and selling them.
And whenever someone asked us "do you have 'this' in your booth?":
We said nope but we will next time.
And thats how it grew. Someone would say to us "hey can you get troll charms for earrings?"
"Hey what about music notes, treble clefs and stuff can you make earrings with those things on them?"
And we just add things to our offerings that we have found useful and invaluable in our lives, like our phone butt plugs.
They insert into your phones charging port to keep out dust and pad thai and stuff, and we dangle cute little charms off of them.
Everything we make has been tested in our lives and found to be awesome, and innovation is the name of the game. We consider everything to be a prototype and whenever we realize something coluld be made even better we switch it up.
